All-American Soapbox Derby
Come down to the Derby Down in July for an American tradition. The All-American Soap Box Derby has been the World Championship for youth soapbox car racing since 1934. See the unique designs and handmade soapbox cars race downhill as the children compete for first prize.

National Hamburger Festival
Akron is the birthplace of many nationally loved foods like the waffle ice cream cones, caramel corn and, most notable, the hamburger. Celebrate this staple of American cuisine at the National Hamburger Festival in Lock 3 Park. Taste test delicious, original-recipe hamburgers as you listen to music and watch the Miss Hamburger competition.

Akron Alcoholics Anonymous - Founder's Day Celebration
Alcoholics Anonymous was founded in Akron, and the city still celebrates the establishment of this movement every year on Founders’ Day. Akron Marathon
Lace up your running shoes and jog over to the Road Runner Akron Marathon for a rolling, scenic tour through the city’s major highlights. Art In The Square
Join Akronites for Art in the Square, the city’s most popular arts, music and community event! For a single day, Highland Square and its surrounding area are transformed into a festival extravaganza.
